Danzig in the First World War.
By Gliles du Boulay.

At the outset of war the XVII Army Corps set up a postal censorship station (Überwachungsstelle) in Danzig 5 Post Office. Various censor marks were applied to mail at this station. The Fieldpost cover below was sent from Danzig-Heubude to the Danish Red Cross in Copenhagen on 12.2.15 endosed with Army censor station circular handstamp and small 'Geprüft' both struck in violet.

*- Postcart sent on 10.12.15, also to the Danish Red Cross, endorsed with a larger 'Geprüft' handstamp in violmet.
The card does not seem to have been returned despite the fact that practically every line has been underlined in blue pencil!
