The Making of a 20th Century Collector.

Through the encouragement of Victor Fischer and Howard Wolk, my later-in-life philatelic mentors, who have become personal friends, the worldwide collecting activities have gotten under control and have been narrowed to Germany, Switserland, Canada and . . . Danzig. The first three areas seem pretty normal. Great countries to colect. Lots of history in the great looking regular, air mail and back of book issues. To my mind, work of art. But Danzig? Why Danzig? A Free State, the port city of Gdansk, Poland with stamps issued only from 1920 through 1939. Seems to be somewhat limiting in number of stamps issued and price.
