Letter posted 24.2.25 with 15 Gr. Port Gdansk stamp [Mi. No. 6], which was the correct letter rate to Poland, received by the Free State Post Office and declared invalid, presumably because it was posted in a Free State letter-box!

30 Pf. due charged as an unstamped letter. 30 Groszy was collected on arrival in Grudziadz, using the old Mark currency dues for 300,00 Marks at the rate of 10,000 Marks to 1 Groszy.

This occured at the time of the postal war between the Poles and the Free State. The Polish stamps which were imprinted “Port/Gdañsk” were first issued on the 5th of January 1925.
