It should be explained that one of he problems with our identifying St. Bigid was that one side (south) has single Gothic windows, and the other (north) side has double Gothic windows. Photo (F) shows the doubles, and (G) shows the singles. Quite confusing, but the church is built in three halls and three separate roof lines. Roof #1 (south) has the main tower, and Roof #2 (center) is crowned with a small pinnacle at the western end, near St. Catherine’s.

Carrying through on John Gilroy’s quest of the Great Synagogue, who can share some information?

Founded in 1400, St. l3rigid’s was renovated during the 16th Century with the present bell tower constructed from 1587-1602. The copper- covered wood framing with the old fashioned crest was initiated in 17th Century.
