From the GPS Thirl?h Study Group Bulletin NO. 117: What a difference a TAG makes? TRSG member Rex Dixon notes that many collectors fall into the common trap oT translating the German word Tag as Day, rather than as Meeting or Congress. For example, Tag der Deutschen Kunst was not The Day of German Art but referred to the whole event. Other examples of this usage are in Reichsparteitag, which refers to the whole rally, or Reichstag, which refers to the parliamentary session (and building). In this sense, Ti4Gis much the same as TAGUNG.

RESEARCH AWARD, POSTAL HISTORY SOCIETY AWARD, HOLLYWOOD STAMP CLUB AWARD, PUERTO RICO PHILATELIC SOCIETY RAUL GANDARA AWARD, and the FLOREX GOLD MEDAL. Not bad for a “dead country”.

Finally, below is another LZ-130 philatelic cover from the July, 1939, flight around Germany. It contains the three Men of Medicine stamps, as shown on Page 1. Shortly after this shake-down flight, Hitler ordered the two Graf Zeppelins destroyed.
