DO-X MAIL FROM DANZIG

The largest airplane in the world at the time, the Dornier DO-X flying boat, made historical flights over the Atlantic in 1931. Curt Michaelis has described in his book, Flugpost von und nach Danzig, Tell II (translated into English in Danzig Report #64), details of Danzig’s part in the 1931 America Round-Trip Flight, which suffered technical delays, including a serious fire in Lisbon.
