Dark-cobald Postage Due stamps.

November 24, 1923. A new design of the Postage Due stamps was issued with a large Danzig Coat of Arms in dark-cobalt with black values. Designed by Max Buchholtz and letterpress printed by the Danzig Postal Printing office on Tile watermarked paper (Wz. 4) and comb perforated 14.

An interesting printing variety. The inverted 'n' in Gulden.
- 3 Gulden value with inverted 'n' in Gulden, Position 13.

- 15 Pfennig, with center stamp printed in Block number, Position 65.
- 40 Pfennig, right stamp with Block number, Position 65.
- 50 Pfennig, with center stamp printed in Block number, Position 65.

An interesting question! Why were four values (5, 25, 40 and 50 Pfennige) printed with a single stamp on each sheet in 'Block' numbers?
