1.1 THE POSTAL MANAGEMENT OFFICE
As soon as the Versailles Treaty became effective on 10 January 1920 the Polish Ministry for Posts and Telegraphs started the organisation of a
Polish postal service in Danzig and established the DYREKCJA POCZT I TELEGRAFÓW NA POMORZE (Postal and Telegraphic Management
Office for Pomorze) to reorganise the postal service in the Pomorze area that had been taken over from the German Post. The vice-president of the
Warszawa Regional Postal Management Office, Dr. Kazimierz Lenartowicz, was appointed the director.
28 December 1920. Official letter sent by Kazimierz Lenartowicz, the manager of the Regional Postal Management Office for Pomorze in Danzig,
to an army sergeant in Starogard saying that he has to send several personal documents in order to be hired as a postal employee.
