2.1 THE EXCHANGE OF MAIL WITH OVERSEAS COUNTRIES
Based on the UPU Convention signed in Rome on the 26 May 1906 already on 1 December 1921 the unilateral transport of mail from Great Britain to Poland through the port of Danzig was opened. On 1 November 1922 bothPostal Administrations introduced the mutual exchange of parcels between Poland and Great Britain and Ireland. From Exchange Post Office Gdańsk No 1 mail was sent to the Exchange Post Office in Hull and later also to London.

POLSKI URZĄD POCZTOWY GDAŃSK 3b transit cds 13 September 1932 and a WOLNE OD CŁA (free of duties), an official seal and a STANISŁAWÓW 2 cds of the Customs Post Office. KOŁOMYJA h arrival cds 16 September 1932 and a single-line AWIZOWANO indicating that the addressee was informed of the arrival of the parcel. KOŁOMYJA d cds 19 September 1932 on three postage due stamps from the day the parcel was collected. 50 groszy for delivery of the parcel and 70 groszy for two days storage.
