2.1 THE EXCHANGE OF MAIL WITH OVERSEAS COUNTRIES
On 17 March 1927 the Polish and Danish Postal Administrations opened the parcel traffic between Poland and Denmark through Danzig. The parcels were sent from the Exchange Post Office Gdańsk No 3 to Copenhagen.
12 July 1927. Parcel card for a 2,3 kg parcel sent from Pinczów to Denmark. Through the customs office Tczew 2, where it was controlled on 14 July, the parcel arrived in the Polish Harbour Post Office in Danzig. POLSKI URZĄD POCZTOWY GDAŃSK No 3 a cds 15 July 1927. For reasons unknown the parcel couldn’t be sent through Danzig. The parcel was sent by train through Chojnice (18 July), Bohneidemühl (19 July) and Berlin 4 (20 July) to Warnemünde (20 July). From there it was shipped to Denmark, it arrived on 21 July in Nykoborg Falster. Copy of the reverse.
On 2 August 1926 the Polish and Norwegian Postal Administrations opened the parcel traffic between Poland and Norway through Danzig. The parcels were sent from the Exchange Post Office Gdańsk No 3 to Stockholm in Sweden and from there to Norway. In November 1931 the direct exchange of parcels between Poland and Norway was opened through Danzig. Exchange Office in Norway became the Oslo Post Office.
