5.1.2 DOMESTIC MAIL – POSTAL SERVICES

An airmail service became available at
the Polish Post in Danzig on 10 July
1928, the day the airmail connection
Danzig – Warszawa – Lwów was opened.
At least half of the total postage was to be
paid with airmail stamps. No special
airmail stamps were issued for the Polish
Post in Danzig. For this reason the normal
Polish ones were used.

10 July 1928. Polish postal stationery card
sent from Danzig to Warszawa with a first
flight cachet. 15 groszy fee for a postcard,
15 groszy for air transport (equal to the
basic fee for postcards) and an additional
fee of 20 groszy.

15 October 1928. Postal stationery card
sent from the Warszawa airport to the
Polish Post in Danzig. POLSKI URZ. P.-
T. GDAŃSK No 1 arrival cds. 15 groszy
for a postcard, 15 groszy for air transport
(equal to the basic fee for a postcard).
