5.1.3 DOMESTIC MAIL – FINANCIAL SERVICES

Postal encashment letters
(list zleceniowy) were used
to collect money through the
Post based on any document
of debt as long as it was
issued in Polish currency and
contained the name and
address of the debtor and the
term and place of payment.
The document(s) had to be
sent in an envelop marked
Zlecenie pocztowe or List
zleceniowy. This envelop
could be an official one,
issued by the Post, or a
private one.

13 February 1931. Postal
encashment letter sent in an
official envelop from Danzig
to the Skała Post Office. 25
groszy for the letter, 30 for
registration and 50 groszy
encashment fee.

16 December
1929. Encashment letter
(Postauftrag –
Zlecenie) sent
from Danzig to
the Kraków Post
Office. 25
groszy for the
letter, 30 for
registration and
50 groszy encashment fee.
