Occasionally, despite the rules, mail
within the Free City was handled by
the Polish Post when it was
addressed to Polish offices in
Danzig.

with a Polish stamp without
overprint, sent to Tadeusz
Ziółkowski, commander of the Pilots
Office in Gdańsk Nowy Port
(Danzig Neufahrwasser). POLSKI

5 September 1938. Letter sent
within Danzig through the Polish
Post with a Polish 10 groszy stamp.
The letter was posted in the letter
box at the main railway station,
which is indicated by the POLSKI
URZĄD POCZTOWY GDAŃSK 2a
cds, and was addressed to the
Polish Post Office at the
Heveliusplatz.
