Anatomy of a Scam:
The Gang that coulden‘t  Cut Straight may be the best description to apply to those in Poland who thought that they could outsmart a very savvy group of Danzig and Port Gdansk collectors. Fortunately, sharp eyes have exposed their forgeries, some of which are shown on surrounding pages. However, some material may have already slipped through, and some collectors may have already spent good money on this worthless junk. Our only position is to call your attention to the possibility that you can be stung and to warn all within earshot, that this is the sad state to which our hobby has fallen. We pity the crooks, whether they be former philatelists or just a drain on a society that has produced so many heroes and honest workers. Let’s not support such an endeavor; if you have been sold such an item, demand your money back and let them know that such scams are not going to be tolerated! Expect to find similarly forged materiaL moving through Poland, Germany, and North America.
Happier Notes:
This is the time of the year to look forward to seeing all of our fine philatelic friends at the ArGe Danzig meeting at Hamm-Pelkum, on 20 May, 1995. We wish them all, from Germany, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, Holland, and America, the very best wishes from the Danzig Study Group. Thanks to all of the ArGe members who have made a great contribution to these Reports.
Start the Gemüthchkeit!

SAS Airlines now flies from Gdansk to Copenhagen, leaving around noon. This offers an earlier connection window, so that it is possible to connect on the same day. (The 4:30 LOT flight later in the afternoon to Hamburg always meant an extra night in Hamburg.) We will take advantage of Curt and Inga Hosny’s good hospitality while in Copenhagen. Curt is editor of Danzig Nyt, if you read Danish.
