5.3 FOREIGN MAIL

13 June 1933. Letter from Halle in
Germany sent poste restante to the
Polish Post Office at the
Heveliusplatz where it arrived on 15
June. At the Polish Post in Danzig
10 groszy due was raised for poste
restante. Because the addressee had
moved to Bydgoszcz, the postage
due was made invalid
(unieważnione) and 25 groszy was
paid for forwarding the letter to
Bydgoszcz.

Arrival datestamp on the
reverse

6 September 1929. Registered airmail
letter sent by the Polish Embassy in
Buenos Aires, Argentina, to the
Office of the Polish Diplomatic
Representative in the Free City of
Danzig on 6 September 1929 (the
datestamp shows 1920). 30 centavos
normal and 1,62 peso airmail stamps
The letter arrived by airmail in
Warszawa and was forwarded to the
Polish Post in Danzig. POSTAGE
