Value of Danzig Perfins (1897-1920)
The following paragraph will be repeated in Part III -- Perfins of Free City Danzig (1920-1939).
The value of Danzig perfins had been studied and values were ass igned by the late Karl Kniep in the bulletin of the ArGe Danzig, No. 922 dated January 4, 1989. The valuation was based upon a survey of Danzig perliii owners and totaled 592. Additional information has been supplied by the Sekowski article The assigned value in Deutsche Marks has been corr ected to obtain a 1998 value. An additional assumption was made that if the same perfin existed both before and after the creation of the Free City, that an equal number of perfins existed iii both periods.
