GREAT EXPECTATIONS
On the eve of the 1970 GPS Spring Convention in Columbus, let’s set a few goals for our Society’s 30th year, culminating in the Anniversary Celebration at Hunt Valley, Maryland, in August.

What can you expect from YOUR GPS?
(1) A strong organization with dedicated leadership by persons whose primary interest is in the area of diseminating German philatelic information to aid you in your collecting.
(2) An opportunity to exhibit the results of your hard work so that others can gain from the information that you have researched and have finally made available to everyone.
(3) An opportunity for fellowship with persons who share the same interests.
(4) An opportunity to expand your collection thru trades and bourse acquisitions at the conventions as well as from the UPS sales circuit available to chapter meetings and individuals.
(5) An opportunity to enjoy a monthly get-together for trades, education and gemütlichkeit at your nearby chapter meeting.
(6) An opportunity to keep up with German philately via the excellent monthly Specialist.
(7) An opportunity to see professional audio-visual presentations made by GPS members for showing at chapter meetings.
(8) An opportunity to serve, If unable to carry of the work yourself, vote in the upcoming elections for those who are willing to shoulder responsibility.

What more can you expect from your GPS?
There is still much more work to be done, but here are a few areas that we look forward for emphasis:
(1) Our new German-English Philatelic Dictionary which we are all awaiting at the fall BALPEX-GPS Convention at Hunt Valley. .
(2) A Study Group, or an ad hoc committee, to correlate and print (in English) an anthology of Early Empire
