6.1 DOMESTIC MAIL

In 1930, the Polish Post in Gdańsk published a list defining the city limits within which the Polish Post would dełiver mail.

 

Above: Proof of receipt for a letter from Kościerzyna to Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz. The letter was not delivered because, according to the annotation, "Wrzeszcz falls within the delivery area of Danzig". The affixed label mentions both the 1930 instruction and a general instruction for the Polish Post from 1935. KOŚCIERZYNA cds 29.1.37. POLSKI URZĄD P.-T. No 1 GDAŃSK k cds 30.1.37.
Below: Proof of receipt for a letter from Kraków to Gdańsk. The letter was not delivered because, according to the annotation on the reverse, "the Adolf Hitlerstrasse falls within the delivery area of the Free City Post". KRAKÓW 1 f cds 23.9.36 and adapted bilingual Austrian KRAKÓW cds 25.9.1936. POLSKI URZĄD P.-T. No 1 GDAŃSK k cds 26.9.36. Only 3 items known.
