FORGERY NO.DR-1
1. Lithographed
2. D too high: 6.5 instead of 6.0 mm.
3. Vertical strokes of n not parallel
4. Dot over the I is too large.
5. Horizontal bar ends are even and is chipped at top.
6. The raster pattern in the bar is at an 85- degree angle instead of usual 90 degrees.

Forgery probably originated in Danzig. Known in both blue and red printing. Red is malt finish and brownish.


FORGERY NO.DR-2
1. Typographic overprint in dull gray-blue
2. The n is too narrow and there is a “foot” on the left leg.
3. The upright of the a is flat on top.
4.The D is too high: 6.5 insteard of 6.0 mm.
5. Top left part of z is too low.
6. The dot over the I is too thick and flat.

Origination place is unknown. In red and blue colors.

FORGERY NO.DR- 3
1.A dangerous forgery due to its correct color and general appearance. Typographed.
2. Top part of z too low.
3. Horizontal bar is 18 mm long, vs 17.6 mm.
4. Vertical strokes of n are not parallel.
5. A diagonal through the horiznontal bar will not cut the openings the same as the original.

Forgeries are known in both blue and red overprints. The backside has been found with false proofing by a Dr. W Bartz, Dresden, in violet signum. False cancels include DANZIG 1 N in gray-black color. The 1O-pfg stamp has been overprinted also in a brown color.
