We received an additional report from John Whiteside on double—circle cancel datestamps and Bahnhof cancels, all of which will be turned into an article as soon as we get the appropriate illustrations. John is another tireless researcher who is always willing to share his findings. Also, the Ganzsachen article will be concluded in the near future. Thanks for your patience.

A note of caution: When buying an auction lot of cancelled stamps, on or off piece, there may be a good chance that most of the scarce (expensive) cancels have been removed from the “reference collection” and that you will glean only the ones that have obscure dates, illegible post office names, etc. A few lots of Schuler’s on the market that appear to be scalped.

John Neefus says that he has found a Danzig Mi. 83 with the burleage network over the orange but under the carmine.

Jim Bowman sends in the unusual privately printed envelope that advertises firms during the Golden Age of Danzig. The imprinted stamp is the 5Pfg Germania, and the entire was issued circa 1902. Borek lists similar series envelopes under 5B3, but this on (Series 120) is not currently listed.
