On this page is the conclusion of The War article as well as The Baltic Fleet Post—Office of 3 June 1854. The modern map below indicates the Crimean Peninsula jutting into the Black Sea and locations of tile main battles. On February 17, 1855, Turkish forces thoroughly defeated Russia at the Battle of Eupatoria. The British blockaded the Russian coast in the Baltic Sea, and all of the mail from Her Majesty’s ships was routed to England from Danzig. Thanks to Giles for these historic clippings.
