DAPOSTA 1937
Usage of oval DAPOSTA cancel, one day prior to the official 8.6.37 start—up. The DANZIG 5/k two-circle cancel contains the proper FDC date, and the card was received in Vienna on the same day. The card is listed as No. PP—3 in the Michel Ganzsachen-Katalog. A mildly surprising note is that a study of several cards shows difference in spacing for the various lines of type, as well as horizontal spacing between the coat of arms, the vertical line and the stamp impression. The chart shows the roving dimensions, and the cards illustrated on the nerxt page reveal their critical dimensions. If you have the facilities, enlarge your cards on a copier and then run a couple on acetate, for a quick comparison of type positions.
