DANZIG REPORT
STUDY and RESEARCH GROUP
Editor: John H. Bloecher Jr., 1743 Little Creek Drive, Baltimore, Md. 21207
Vol. 1 - Nr. 48 - July - August - September - 1985
This is a special issue of the Danzig Report in that all of the material has been contributed by you, the members! Over the years, we haven’t kept up with the various contributions, corrections and questions that you have sent in. Here is an opportunity to clean house and give a by—line to some new friends as well as old. Thanks are due them and to all who have contributed to the Reports in the past.
There are still exciting finds in Danzig stamps, and one recent discovery and a subsequent find by the Editor is described below:
Richard M. Nixon on a Danzig postage stamp? Hardly. But take a look at the “5”in the upper left corner of Figure 1 and see if the schnoz doesn’t look familiar. Figure 3 shows a tracing made from John’s copy, enlarged many times on our CCTV system. Dr. Neefus’ Mi. No. 219a (ultramarine blu) prompted a search that turned up no more Nixons, but a split in the 5 and frame top, showr in Figures 2 and 4. Have you seen any of these in your own collection? Let us know.
